Here’s a live edge slab table I built for our kitchen. The wood species is sycamore, and the finish is Rubio Monocoat natural. The metal legs were bought online from Rockler. This build was pretty straight forward. Peeled the bark off with combination of tools, filled a few knots with dyed epoxy, and sanded smooth. This was my first time using Rubio Monocoat, and I really like the way it ended up. The ‘natural’ color really highlights the wood grain, and once the finish cured, its very durable while still feeling like natural wood (vs poly finishes).
